Although relatively few in North America have even heard about it, the building of paper models is well known in much of Europe and Asia. Actually we use card stock, like what index cards are made of. The advent of the internet has transformed this hobby. Now hundreds and hundreds of digital files of models of almost anything, from beetles to bombers, are available on the web for free, and many more for a modest price. The only expense is the paper and printer ink. The building is definitely a learned skill. These models are really "built"--not just "put together."
